Students at Greene County Middle School were recognized at an assembly last Monday for achievements during the winter trimester, which ran from November through March.
Students honored for having perfect attendance during the trimester were seventh graders Brianne Ball, Alexandria Miller, Johnathon Sprague, Shelby Stoffa and Caden Telleen. Eighth graders with perfect attendance are Dylan Ades, Gaige Buttler, Eliza Carlson, Kendall Fecher, John Goble, Caroline Kellogg, Ethan Long, Brianna Osterson, Anthony Tolsdorf, Chris Villalobos and Jaxon Warnke.
Students who sang in the Iowa Choral Directors Association 2017 central district honor choir were recognized by vocal music director Brenda Roberts. Honored were seventh graders MaKenna Fox, Blake Halligan, Kiersten Purdie and Sadie Reedy. Eighth graders were Robert Arnold, Avery Bardole, Hannah Curtis, Andrea Grundon, Clayton Peters, Chris Villalobos, Jaxon Warnke and Josey Weaver.
Language arts teacher Tammy Brophy honored seventh graders who were invited to have poetry published in the “Creative Communication” spring 2017 anthology. Poets include Alexandria Miller, Asta Minella, Brayton Kohl, Brianne Ball, Bryce Stalder, Daniel Rivera, Freedom Joy, Jackson Morton, Jared Robbins, Kayleigh Fowler, Kierstin Purdie, Kyle McKinsey, Logan Higgins, Logan Woodruff, Lucy Dudley, Lyndsey Zahradnik, Madison Grow, Mallory Prescott, Rilee Jordan, Rylie Moranville, Sadie Reedy and Sadie Williams.
