In Greene County district court Jerimy J. Godwin, 39, of Bouton was sentenced March 24 to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of forgery. The prison time was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. Godwin was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. He must also pay $150 restitution to Sparky’s One Stop, restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined, and $314.07 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)
Steven Lloyd Sellers, 46, of Ankeny was granted a deferred judgment after he changes his plea to guilty to a charge of unlawful betting winnings over $500 less than $1,000. He was placed on informal probation for one year. He must pay a $625 civil penalty and a $125 LEI surcharge. Court costs were $140. (Sentencing: Kester)
Timothy J. Schrum, 33, of Atlantic was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. Schrum was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Dominic Michael Auxier, 18, of Boone, possess or manufacture marijuana with intent to deliver and failure to affix tax stamp; Bryan Gene Snell, 32, of Coon Rapids, possession of methamphetamine- first offense, operating while intoxicated- third offense, and driving while license barred; Ryan James Brown, 44, of Jefferson, willful injury causing serious injury, burglary- second degree, assault while participating in a felony, and criminal mischief- second degree; Travis Michael Straight, 23, of Scranton, child endangerment and manufacture, deliver or possess with intent to deliver counterfeit marijuana within 500 feet of school; and Jonathan Phillip Michael Kennedy, 29, of Grand Junction, possession of methamphetamine- first offense. Trial dates of May 9 were set for Auxier, Snell, Brown and Straight. A trial date of June 13 was set for Kennedy.
Cases were initiated in district court during the week ending March 30 as follows: Steven Craig Gibson, 62, of Guthrie Center, gambling- false statement on employment application; David Hoyle, 31, of Churdan, harassment- first degree; Chantelle Lee Wolf, 33, of Rhodes, attempted burglary- third degree, motor vehicle (six counts); Stephen Arthur Molle, 21, of Jamaica, conspiracy to manufacture, deliver or possession marijuana with intent to deliver, and possession of marijuana- second offense; and Dennis Michael Trizila II, 30, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- first offense.
