Greene County junior Gwen Black was elected as the 2017-2018 SW District FFA treasurer.
She competed against other balloted candidates at Red Oak High School on Saturday, March 4. After giving a short speech and answering two interview questions the position was voted on by FFA delegates from other chapters of the district.
Her duties as district treasurer will be similar to those of a treasurer at the chapter level: receiving, recording, and depositing FFA funds and issuing receipts, presenting monthly treasurer reports, and maintaining neat and accurate treasury records, among other tasks.
