In Greene County district court Zachery Allen Waters, 20, of Grand Junction was sentenced Feb. 14 after he pleaded guilty to charges of trespass- serious and criminal mischief- fourth degree, amended from burglary- third degree. On each of the charges he was sentenced to 365 days in jail, suspended. He was placed on informal probation for one year. He was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative (LEI) surcharge on each charge. Waters must also pay $382.70 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)
Angela Dawn Beem, 46, of Webster City was granted a deferred judgment after she pleaded guilty to a charge of unauthorized use of credit under $1,000. She was placed on probation for two years. She must pay a civil penalty of $625, a $125 LEI surcharge, $120 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees, and $248.36 court costs. Two counts of unauthorized use of credit under $1,000 were dismissed. (Sentencing: Kester)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Susan Housesman, 56, of Ogden, false reporting of financial transaction, fraudulent practice- second degree, gambling- false claim of winnings; Donna Diekmann, 43, of Scranton, theft- second degree; Nicholas Anthony Balderas, 25, of Jefferson, public intoxication- third offense; and Pamela Kay Johnson, 60, of Fort Dodge, operating while intoxicated (OWI)- first offense. A trial date was set for April 4 for Houseman and for May 9 for Diekmann, Balderas and Johnson.
Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Angela Rae Lowmiller, 18, of Jefferson, theft- third degree; Derek Eugene Ott, 35, of Jefferson, burglary- third degree; Michael Jason Godwin, 28, of Jefferson, tampering with witness or juror, and in a separate case, theft- fourth degree; and Dominic Michael Auxier, 18, of Boone, possession or manufacture with intent to deliver marijuana, and failure to affix tax stamp.
