A memorial service was held Sunday, Feb. 26, at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson for Donald Dean Sievers, 67, of Jefferson. The Rev Sheldon Henderson of Central Christian Church in Jefferson offered words of comfort. Honorary bearers were his Oly’s coffee group and Ken Hessenius.

Getting the week off to a good start
Greene County elementary students have some extra motivation to start a new week at school. Jump Start Monday is a short school-wide assembly held every Monday morning. It’s like a weekly corporate staff meeting to be sure all employees are on the same “page” and ready to go.

Area residents from several Jefferson churches are once again gathering weekly for a meal, fellowship and a Lenten devotion. Each Wednesday a light lunch is served at 11:45 am, with an ecumenical devotion from 12:15 to 12:45 pm. A donation of $5 is requested to defray the cost of the meal.
