Greene County lost three duals at Perry on Thursday, Jan. 26. The Rams were defeated by Ballard 67-12, Humboldt 51-24, and Perry 51-30. The Rams end the dual meet season with a 9-16 record.
Two Greene County wrestlers went 3-0 on the night. Hunter Ruth (220) secured three falls while Brock Wuebker (170) had two falls and a decision.
Will Hansen (126) and Isaac Ireland (152) sat out because of injuries and Cayden Gerdes (132) was injured in his first match and could not finish the evening.
On Saturday the Rams traveled to Guthrie Center for the Charger Invitational. The team finished 17th in a field of 22 teams. Clarion-Goldfield won the team title with 169.5 points. Van Meter was second and Panorama third. The host school placed ninth.
The Class 3A sectional tournament for Greene County is Saturday, Feb. 4, in Humboldt. Wrestling begins at 12 noon.

With a shortened roster of five wrestlers, Greene County placed 17th at the Charger Invitational Saturday. Isaiah Yoder (182) placed second, losing the championship bout to Woodward-Granger’s Tanner Vermaas, who is ranked fourth in Class 2A. Hunter Ruth (220) finished third after being knocked out of the championship bracket by the eventual champion Cade Suhr (ACGC), who is #7 in Class 1A.
