The Greene County compensation board will meet Thursday, Jan. 12, at 8 am in the board room at the Greene County courthouse. Any salary increase for county elected officials begins with a recommendation from the compensation board to the county board of supervisors.
Typically, the compensation board considers salaries of officials in counties of similar population, wage increases in contracts negotiation by the county with county employees, and changes in the cost of living.
Elected officials appoint representatives to the compensation board. Members of the board and the office they are representing are Bob Schwarzkopf, auditor; Mary Jane Fields and Jim Unger, supervisors; Tom Heater, attorney; Steve Haupert, sheriff; Denise O’Brien Van, treasurer; and Aaron Schroeder, recorder.
