Greene County magistrate court, week ending Feb. 5

The ecumenical Lenten Luncheon series begins Ash Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the St Joseph Parish Center in Jefferson. Each Wednesday during Lent one Jefferson church serves a light lunch from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm, followed by a devotional program from 12:15 to 12:45. In Greene County district court Roy Steed Cope, 72, of Centerville was sentenced to two consecutive two-year prison terms Jan. 25 after he pleaded guilty to charges of attempted burglary-third degree and operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.  The prison terms were not suspended.
