The Greene County FFA chapter held its second annual Jacket Award Ceremony and ended its fruit sales fundraiser.
On December 9, the ceremony included the FFA officer testimonies, advisor Katie Akers’ remarks, and the Greene County Cattlemen’s Association representative Pat Fields (pictured, left). With Fields is Mason Burkett.
The chapter is pleased to award 29 new members with their FFA jacket, a time-honored symbol of membership and part of the FFA official dress. A special thanks to the Greene County Cattlemen’s Association for sponsoring our ceremony this year with the purchase of the new FFA members’ jackets. At the end of the ceremony, Ram Restaurant supplied refreshments. This year’s fruit sales reached a new high of selling nearly $20,000 worth of product compared to $17,500 last year and $15,000 in 2014. Top sellers were Brock Wuebker, Lucas Fisher, and Emily Finch. ~Reporter Brian Rasmussen
