To the editor,
I am voting for Guy Richardson’s re-election to the Greene County board of supervisors because the whole county needs his representation.
We are a rural county – there is no question about that. Guy has proved time and time again his support for agriculture with his votes on a wide range of ag issues including farm-to-market roads, responsible expansion of animal feeding operations, the agreement with Louis Dreyfus, and many more. Our farmers, our small towns and their interests are well represented by Guy.
At the same time, Guy’s presence on the board of supervisors brings balance and the same kind of support and leadership for the people of Jefferson. As a lifelong Greene County resident, Guy has served on the Jefferson city council and many boards and organizations. He and his wife Katie own and run two businesses on the square.
The opponent in this race, Peter Bardole, also lives in Jefferson, but his livelihood, work and church are in Rippey. His campaign emphatically talks about his role in Farm Bureau and the rural agenda. That is very important, and those interests are already represented.
Guy offers the continuity we need in our county government as we face issues such as future economic development, job growth, housing, education and agricultural diversification. We stand at a threshold. Guy has been an integral part of our accomplishments. He is the right person to represent all of us on the Greene County board of supervisors.
