Beta Tau Delta, second graders go to Blank Park Zoo

btd-zoo-tripGreene County second-grader Jessie Higgins (left) was one of 100 second-graders who experienced the Blank Park Zoo recently, compliments of Beta Tau Delta, the women’s sorority in Jefferson committed to raising funds for programs and projects to benefit young people in the county.  

The sorority provides chaperones and pays for all expenses for the annual trip to the zoo by all second graders and their teachers in the county.  

Jessie’s up close and personal encounter with the alligator was part of the educational presentation for the children by zoo educator Angela Tague.
