In Greene County district court Joseph Donald Andrews, 33, of Gowrie was sentenced Oct. 20 to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of carrying weapons. The prison sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. Andrews was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge and restitution for his court appointed attorney to be determined. One county of carrying weapons and one count of possession of marijuana were dismissed. Court costs were $306.49. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)
Margaret Jessica Ruth Wilson, 40, of Jefferson was sentenced to two days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- first offense. The jail time was suspended and she was placed on informal probation for one year. Her driver’s license was revoked for 180 days. Wilson was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge, a $10 drug abuse resistance education (DARE) surcharge and a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge. She must also pay restitution for her court appointed attorneys fees to be determin3ed and $100 court costs. Cases in magistrate court in which Wilson was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and with theft- fifth degree were dismissed. Courts costs were $60 in each of those cases. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Christopher Hollis Christian, 36, of Grand Junction, driving while license barred; Katelin Rae Lowmiller, 25, of Jefferson, driving while license barred; Michael Dean Laub, 49, of Rippey, driving while license barred; Justin Ray Lopez, 18, of Jefferson, driving while license revoked; and Jeffrey Lee Hawkins, 44, of Lake City, driving while license revoked. Trial dates were set for Dec. 13 for Christian, Lowmiller, Laub and Lopez, and for Nov. 1 for Hawkins.
Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Joseph Robert Hupp, 24, of Scranton has been charged with possession of marijuana- first offense. The warrant was issued April 20 and returned Oct. 7. Hupp pleaded not guilty Nov. 19; a trial date was set for Jan. 24.
A case was initiated in district court against Jeffery Paul Olberding, 50, of Scranton on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
