The Greene County volleyball team had its frustrations in the regular season but won the first match in post season play. The Rams topped the Atlantic Trojans in Atlantic in Region 2 opening play by scores of 25-13, 25-15, 25-11 on Tuesday.
Nadia Fisher was 18 of 19 serving with five aces. She had seven kills and seven digs. Hannah Promes was 18 of 18 serving and had 32 assists and seven digs. Hannah Stein had seven kills and Emily Heupel had seven digs.
The Rams had just four serving errors in the match.
“We improved significantly from Monday night, picking up tips well in this match,” said coach Donna Carhill. “We played efficiently and as a team, executing both our offense and defense soundly. It’s always nice to continue to play in the post season.”
The Rams were 8-24 going into the match, while the Trojans were 4-25, having lost 23 of their previous 24 games.
The Rams will play Class 3A fourth rated Kuemper Catholic in Carroll Oct. 25 in a Region 2 semifinal.
