Greene County Medical Center was recently selected, for the second year in a row, as one of the Des Moines Register’s “Top 150 Iowa Workplaces.” The top 150 Iowa workplaces are divided into three categories: small, mid-sized and large employees. The medical center was ranked #38 out of 75 in the mid-sized company category.
The announcement was made at a special Top Workplaces awards luncheon in Des Moines and then followed up with a special section in the Sept. 18 Des Moines Sunday Register. “It is an honor to be selected for the second year in a row” stated medical center human resources director Kristan Lawless.
The selection is based on an employee survey conducted in late spring and overseen by WorkplaceDynamics. Medical center employees rated the medical center based on workplace practices and job satisfaction questions on a scale ranging from “strongly agree” to “strongly disagree.”
Lawless noted that, “As one of the county’s largest employers, surveys like the Top Workplace survey, as well as one done in conjunction with UnityPoint Health, help the medical center create and maintain an environment where employees want to work here and our community wants to receive care here.”
