Cub Scout Pack 534 and Boy Scout Troop 534 have begun their annual popcorn sales fundraiser. Boys will be selling a variety of sweet and salty Iowa-grown Uncle Bade’s popcorn until Oct. 23. Money raised will help provide opportunities for boys to attend camps and participate in fun, educational activities that will encourage them to become exceptional young men.

Register now for Cartober Fest 2016
Early registrations are now being taken for Cartober Fest 2016, hosted by the Rippey public library as part of the Rippey Fall Festival. Cartober Fest will be Saturday, Oct. 29, from 2 to 5 pm. Check-in will start at 12 pm. All cars, trucks, tractors and motorcycles are welcome.

Hardin Happy Husters: The regular monthly meeting of the Hardin Happy Hustlers was held on Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Extension office in Jefferson. There were 16 members present. Discussion was held about the 2016 Greene County Fair, the upcoming awards day in October and re-enrollment for the coming year.
