The Greene County FFA chapter held its first chapter meeting of the 2016-17 school year last Tuesday, Aug. 30. There were 44 students and 12 guests in attendance. A meal was served prior to the meeting. The chapter is looking forward to an eventful year. ~chapter reporter Brian Rasmussen

Jefferson residents had very pleasant weather during the week ending Sept. 2, with comfortable daytime highs and cool nights. High temperature for the week was 90 degrees on Sunday, Aug. 28, according to KCCI’s SchoolNet 8. Low temperature was 56 degrees on Friday. Jefferson received .03 inch of rain in three separate rainfalls.

See below) The Greene County Ram varsity football team played better offense than during the season opener last week, but they still came up short against the highly regarded Harlan Cyclones.
