The Greene County eighth grade volleyball team hosted Gilbert Monday, Sept. 26, and lost all three matches. Game scores for the A squad were 10-21, 4-21, 5-12; for the B squad 9-21, 9-21, 5-18; and for the C squad 20-22, 6-21, 16-21.
Top servers were Sadie Wilson at nine of nine with one ace, Paige Egeland at 16 of 17 for 94 percent and seven aces, Emma McColley at seven of eight for 88 percent, and Eliza Carlson at two of two. The team served 68 of 94 for 72 percent and 21 aces.
The girls traveled to Nevada the next day and again lost all three matches. Game scores for the A squad were 5-21, 12-21, 13-21; for the B squad 4-21, 9-21, 10-21; and for the C squad 14-21, 12-21, 18-18.
Top servers were Brooke Diekmann at eight of eight with one ace, Carlson at nine of 10 for 90 percent and three aces, Wilson at nine of 10 with one ace, Julia Follett at five of six for 83 percent, Gaige Buttler at nine of 11 for 82 percent and two aces, and McColley at eight of 10 for 80 percent with three aces.
The A squad is 2-15 in games and 1-6 in matches. The B squad is 7-13 in games and 1-6 in matches, and the C squad is 10-8-2 in games and 4-3 in matches.
The team hosts South Hamilton in Jefferson on Oct. 3.
