The Grand Junction pool committee has applied for funds from the Wellmark Foundation’s Community Kickstarter grants program. The program is designed to help communities become healthier places to live, work, learn and play.
Public support is one criterion on which grantmaking will be done. The Wellmark Foundation is hosting public voting via its Facebook page now through Oct. 7.
The Grand Junction pool committee asks area residents to visit the Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield Facebook page and cast a vote for the pool renovation project.
The pool didn’t open this summer due to an estimated $130,000 in needed repairs. The committee has raised more than $40,000 already and hopes to have the pool open again for the summer of 2017.
