The Greene County varsity volleyball team lost in four sets to CMB in Maxwell Tuesday. Scores were 1-25, 25-19, 22-25, 17-25.
The Rams are 1-3 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference and 4-10 overall. They’re 13-24 in sets.
Nadia Fisher led in serving at 19 of 22 and six aces. She also led in digs with 20 and had seven kills. Emily Heupel was 17 of 18 with two aces serving and had 14 digs. and Hannah Stein was six of six with one ace and had 14 digs.
Megan Durbin led in kills with 10. Hannah Promes had 28 assists.
“We were working with a revised defense for this match and are still refining it,” coach Donna Carhill said. “Even though we were down in the sets, we continually battled back, especially with our serving. I commend the team for staying in the match even when we were down.”
The junior varsity won in three sets by scores of 21-19, 17-21, 15-12.
Samantha Hardaway was 15 of 15 with three aces at the service line, and also had 10 kills, six assists and 14 digs.
Baylee Eider was 14 of 14 serving with one ace and had 14 digs. Chantel Flack was nine of nine serving with one ace and had 16 digs. Onica Delp had six kills. Gina Brown had seven assists. Carhill said the team “played very composed and with a true sense of team.”
