The Greene County Chamber of Commerce board invites all Chamber members and area residents to meet Roccie Hill at a “meet and greet” this Sunday, Sept. 18, from 4 to 5 pm at the Thomas Jefferson Gardens. The social event is part of the Fall Fest on the courthouse square.
Hill began in her position as Chamber director Sept. 1. She brings a wealth of experience gained over nearly four decades of working with non-profit organizations. A native of California, she has lived in many locations around the world.
She first visited Jefferson at the invitation of Dean and Lois McAtee as an author promoting her second novel, Window of Exposure. She said she enjoyed the visit, and compared Jefferson to walking down Main Street in Disneyland. “Everybody’s happy, people are friendly, it’s a beautiful environment and there’s a lot of energy….. I think you’re doing a lot right,” she told the county supervisors Monday morning.
“We couldn’t be happier to have Roccie as our director. Her experience and the wisdom she has gained will benefit our entire membership,” said Chamber president Ora Stevens. “We hope many people will take a few moments to meet Roccie Sunday afternoon.”
Persons who can’t attend the “meet and greet” are always welcome to visit her at the Chamber office at the Jefferson municipal building, 220 N. Chestnut St, in Jefferson.
