Jefferson police captain Heath Enns has released results of the special Traffic Enforcement Project (sTEP) conducted by the JPD Aug. 23 through Sept. 5.
Sixteen traffic citations were written and 61 warnings were issued as follows: seat belt, one citation, six warnings; child restraint, one warning; speed, four citations, five warnings; stop sign/light, two citations, one warning; license suspended or revoked, one citation, two warnings; registration, two warnings; dark windows, six warnings; equipment violations, 22 warnings; no proof of insurance, six warnings; and other traffic violations, eight citations, 10 warnings.
Officers investigated three accidents and served one arrest warrant during that time.
