Educational series set on Veterinary Feed Directive

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Iowa Farm Bureau, and the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association are partnering to offer an educational series about the Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD)*,which goes into effect next Jan. 1. Iowa State Extension beef program specialist Chris Clark said Iowa veterinarians, livestock producers, and feed industry personnel are invited to participate.

More State Fair wins told for Carlson

Marianne Carlson of Jefferson continues to claim ribbons and prizes in State Fair foods competitions. In the Chocolate Storybook Candies competition judged Aug. 12 she snagged reserve sweepstakes honors. She placed first in basic fudge (no marshmallow crème) and first in fudge with nuts. She also placed first in Chocolate Works- toffee.
