Tromp the Trail returns Sept. 3

Greene County Early Learning Center board members invite area residents to “get dirty for a good cause” Saturday, Sept. 3. A “Tromp the Trail” 3K run/walk at Spring Lake Park will cover grass, dirt trails and roads within the park. More than 10 optional obstacles will add an extra element to the family-oriented event.

Weather data, week ending Aug. 12

Jefferson received .67 inch of rain during the week that ended Aug. 12. Unfortunately, rain on Thursday caused the cancellation of a favorite summer event, the Hot August Night car/truck/motorcycle/tractor show. High temperature according to KCCI’s SchoolNet 8 was  94 degrees. Low temperature was  64 degrees.

Hundreds of quilts in weekend display

Quilting enthusiasts, young and old, male and female, roamed the Greene County Fairgrounds last weekend for the biennial Greene County Quilt Show. A good-sized crowd enjoyed viewing the large variety of quilts on display in two buildings.
