Three buses to shuttle Scranton students, three to shuttle Grand Junction students, and five to shuttle Jefferson students
Parents of Greene County students preparing for a new school year can verify their children’s bus routes on the school website.
Most students will see little change from last school year, except for Jefferson residents who live near a school and walk to that school to board a bus to another building in Jefferson. Students riding from the elementary, middle school or high school to another building in Jefferson should board Bus 8. The route buses that drop students at each building will no longer pick up students and take them to another building. This change is for morning buses only. (High school students who ride Bus 4 into Jefferson will need to board Bus 8 at the elementary school. Bus 4 will not go to the high school.)
As in past years, four buses will transport fourth, fifth and sixth graders from Jefferson to the Intermediate School in Grand Junction, and one bus will transport fourth, fifth and sixth graders from Scranton to Grand Junction.
Two buses will pick up students who live in the town of Scranton and take them to Jefferson. Students in pre-kindergarten through third grade will ride one bus and students in grades 7-12 will ride another bus.
Three buses will shuttle students from the Intermediate School to Jefferson, with riders divided by age. Students in pre-kindergarten through second grade will ride one bus, third graders and seventh/eighth graders will ride another bus, and high school students will ride a third bus.
The earliest pick-up on the Jefferson perimeter route is planned for 7:20 am so Intermediate students can board their bus to Grand Junction by 7:55.
School staff will be available the first day of school to help students find their correct buses and seats.
