Judging of 2016 Greene County 4-H static exhibit entries took place Tuesday, July 12.
4-H members’ projects were evaluated by experts in the areas of animals; agriculture and natural resources; creative arts; science, engineering, and technology; family and consumer sciences; and personal development. Judging is done face-to-face, giving youngsters the opportunity to learn and to practice valuable interpersonal skills.
The static exhibit judging event was coordinated by superintendents Michelle Hardin, Linda Hedges, Shari Minnehan, and Jo Anne Schnebly.
Selected for the Iowa State Fair were:
- ANIMALS – Jaron Thompson- veterinary science, cat first aid kit
- AGRICULTURE & NATURAL RESOURCES – Grace Curtis- Horticulture, Terrarium
- PHOTOGRAPHY – Arthur Bardole, Kara Betts, Madison Hall, Samantha Hardaway, Emily Heupel
- VISUAL ARTS – Megan Brincks- duct tape book bag; Ariel Mills- Mad Hatter hat; Eliot Schilling- drawing of wolf; Justin Stream- rim with baseball stuff on fence; and Paige Teeples- crayon picture art.
- SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, & TECHNOLOGY – Arthur Bardole Arthur Bardole- Science, Engineering & Technology, compost soil experiment year 2; Jacob Thompson- Mechanics, go-cart; Joe Thompson- Mechanics, lawn mower; and Joe Thompson- Mechanics, emergency vehicle kit.

- SEWING & NEEDLE ARTS – Hannah Curtis- maze runner quilt; Natalie Heupel- constructed romper; and Emma Larson- Iowa State quilt.
- FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCES – Hannah Curtis- Health, Is It Exercise?; Ashlyn Frederick- Health, soap; and Jaron Thompson- wardrobe, back to school on rack.
