JPD tells sTEP results

The Jefferson police department conducted a special Traffic Enforcement Project (sTEP) July 1-5.

Officers investigated two accidents and made one narcotics arrest during that period. They also arrested one driver for operating while intoxicated.

Officers issued five citations – one each for seat belt, registration, dark windows, no proof of insurance and “other.”

Officers issued 31 warnings as follows: equipment- nine; speed- five; no proof of insurance- four; seat belt- four; registration- three; dark windows- three, and “other” traffic violations- three.
