Ellen Bunkers Ritter was introduced Monday morning to the county supervisors as the new mental health coordinator for Greene, Guthrie and Audubon Counties.
Ritter holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Iowa State University and a master’s degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling from Drake University. She is a 1998 graduate of Jefferson-Scranton High School.
In coming to Greene County, she is leaving a position with the Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services, a state agency. Prior to that, she was a case manager in Boone, Dallas and Madison Counties.
Ritter has moved to Jefferson. “I’m excited to be back in Jefferson and to raise my family here,” she told the supervisors.
She fills a vacancy created by the retirement of Diane Jackson. Jackson was county mental health coordinator for nine years after many years working for the Department of Human Services.
