Hot, dry weather sinking moisture levels

Very warm conditions and spotty rains prevailed across much of Iowa during the week ending June 19, according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service. High temperatures and lack of precipitation, especially across the lower two-thirds of the state is stressing some crops, causing corn leaves to curl. Hearing scheduled in sex abuse case

The end of a sexual assault case that has weighed heavily on the minds of area residents is in sight. An adjudicatory hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, June 28, at 9 am in juvenile court for Trey Tucker, now 17, on a charge of delinquency. The notice of hearing was entered in Iowa Courts Online June 21.
