Singer/songwriter Phil Lee will perform at Prairie Blue Creative Arts Saturday, June 25, at 8 pm. As a “house concert,” attendees are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages, and a hat will be passed for the musician. Lee’s CD, Some Gotta Lose (Paookaville) will be available for purchase.

Persons who want more information about the performance or to reserve a table can email prairiebluecreativearts@gmail.com. Prairie Blue is located on the west side of the courthouse square in Jefferson.

Associated Press has described Lee as “combining the social consciousness of Woody Guthrie with the twisted fury of Jerry Lee Lewis.”

Also this weekend, local artist Audie Clune will exhibit her artwork at Prairie Blue Saturday and Sunday. Her art will be a backdrop for the Saturday evening house concert, and there will be a reception with Clune Sunday, June 26, from 1 to 3 pm.

Clune grew up in Nyack, NY, a small town on the Hudson River where many artists and musicians lived. She described Nyack as “a very diverse and non-judgmental creative atmosphere where people supported expressing yourself.”

She started painting in her early teens and prefers painting abstract images. Some of her art has been in group and solo art shows in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. She moved from California to Jefferson in October 2013.

She is dedicating the work she will display at Prairie Blue to the memory of the late Jamie Murphy.
