The election spirit will continue in Jefferson this weekend during FIFTY Fest, the 37th annual Bell Tower Festival hosted by the Greene County Chamber of Commerce.
Everyone at the festival is invited to vote for their favorite sculpture of the five entered in the “Ring Out for Art” contest hosted by Jefferson Matters: Main Street’s Tower View Team. Votes will be accepted at the Jefferson Matters booth on the north side of the courthouse, near the sculptures.
The artists of the top three sculptures will receive cash prizes provided by Home State Bank, and their art will remain in Jefferson for the coming year.
Winners will be announced Saturday at 4:45 pm on Plaza Stage.
Also at the JM:MS booth festival-goers can contribute their memories of the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower. The memories will be crafted into a “community poem” by poet David Williamson.
