Sign-up and distribution of coupons for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program will take place Thursday and Friday, June 2 and June 3, from 8 am to 1 pm at the Greenewood Community Center on Greenewood Road in Jefferson.
The program is available to persons age 60 and older who are single with a yearly income less than $21,978 or married with a combined yearly income less than $29,637.
Persons will need to provide their birth date and the last four numbers of their Social Security number at the sign-up.
Coupons can be redeemed for produce at farmers markets now through Oct. 15. Most vendors at the Greene County farmers market in Jefferson can accept the Seniors Farmer Market Nutrition Program coupons. The local farmers market season opens June 7.
