Paid for by casino funds
When the Jefferson swimming pool opens for the season May 28 there will be new tin on the roofs of the shade structures, six new benches, four new tables and a new sound system.
The park and recreation board and other volunteers had a work bee Saturday morning to paint the concession stand and assemble the tables and benches.
The $10,000 update is funded by funds received by the city of Jefferson from Wild Rose Jefferson. The city receives a percentage of adjusted gaming revenues, with that amount at $114,000 since the casino opened last July.
