Register entries now for FIFTY Fest parade

Bell Tower 2016-GoldThe Saturday morning parade during the Bell Tower Festival is a favorite part of the festival for many. For decades the Jefferson Rotary Club has organized the parade as a service to the community, and this year is no different.

The Rotary Club is already working to make sure the 37th annual Bell Tower Festival parade, with a theme FIFTY Fest, is a proper tribute to the 50th birthday of the festival’s namesake, the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower.

Almost anything that moves can be in the parade. Floats, bands, antique vehicles, horses, semi tractor-trailers, trucks, tractors, fire trucks, walking groups and more are welcome.

Parade entries can choose if they’d like to be judged in three different categories: commercial (business advertising/publicity; non-commercial (class reunions, dance groups, organizations, etc); and thematic (entries that depict the FIFTY Fest theme).

Information and registration forms are available now at www.belltowerfestival.org. There is no charge for entries registered before June 8. There will be a $20 charge for entries after that date. The parade is Saturday, June 11, and will follow the usual route from Greene County High School north to the Bell Tower Square and finishing at Greene County Middle School.
