Registration deadline is May 10
Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) counselors at Greene County Medical Center are hosting a “Welcome to Medicare” seminar on Tuesday, May 17, from 6 to 8 pm. The seminar is for persons who are going to be eligible for Medicare in the near future, or have been on Medicare for awhile and want to better understand what it offers. Those who help family members who are on Medicare may also want to attend.
“Welcome to Medicare” is a two-hour, free seminar, and will be held in the medical center’s education classroom. Please call Mary Ann Wright at 515-386-2114 by Tuesday, May 10, to register.
“We’re excited to offer this free seminar to the community,” said Wright. “Medicare is such an important program and understanding what it offers helps assure that anyone eligible gets the health benefits they deserve.”
“Welcome to Medicare” will cover Medicare Part A and Part B benefits, the prescription drug benefit (Part D), Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare supplement insurance.
SHIIP is a service of the State of Iowa. SHIIP counselors are trained by the state and do not sell or promote any insurance companies, policies or agents. Greene County Medical Center is a local sponsor for SHIIP in Greene County.
