Who wouldn’t enjoy a cart full of breakfast items appearing at their work station with an invitation to pick somethin, no charge, to start the day?
That’s what teachers at Greene County High School will have this Friday compliments of the student council as part of Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2-6.
Monday the student council invites teachers to eat their lunch outside at the picnic tables, with dessert provided by the students. Wednesday teachers will be treated to ice cream sundaes before their afternoon professional development session.
Tuesday is National Teacher Day. According to the National Education Association, National Teacher Day is “a day for honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our lives.”
It was Eleanor Roosevelt who first persuaded Congress to proclaim a National Teacher Day in 1953.
