Rams host Early Bird track meet

The Greene County track teams hosted the annual Ram Early Bird track meet on Monday, March 28. Both teams performed well in the unclassed, unscored event. The girls tallied four first place events with Megan Durbin scoring in the 100-meters and high jump. Haley Hall was first in the 3000-meters and Melanie Doran broke the tape in the 400-meter hurdles.

In Greene County district court a judgment was entered March 29 against Richard Charles Burkhardt, 46, of Jefferson after he pleaded guilty to a charge of interference with official acts. Rob Schultz, owner of the Jefferson Pizza Ranch, has been charged in connection with the fire at the restaurant in the early morning of Jan. 27. Robert Duane Schultz Jr, 53, of Ankeny has been charged with arson-first degree (Class B felony), criminal mischief-first degree (Class C felony), and insurance fraud (Class D felony).
