Nominations due April 30
Greene County Medical Center is gearing up to honor its fifth DAISY Award winner on Wednesday, May 11.
The medical center held two DAISY Award ceremonies in 2014, first honoring Jenny Taylor, director of clinical services, and then honoring public health nurse Laine Custer. In 2015, the medical center honored Lori Harrah, director of nursing in long term care, and Desiree Monaghan, acute nursing manager.
The internationally-known DAISY Award has been used to recognize thousands of “extraordinary nurses” for exceptional patient care for the past 15 years. More than 1,700 medical facilities worldwide honor nurses with the DAISY Award.
The medical center is now seeking nominations for 2016 honorees. Nomination forms and submission boxes are located throughout the medical center. Nominations can be made by patients, their family members, caretakers, community members and co-workers.
Chief nurse executive Katie Heldt said, “It is rewarding to see nurses recognized for the great work they do every day, especially when it comes from patients, family members or caregivers. I encourage these folks to nominate the nurse who took such good care of them or their loved one.”
While nominations can be made throughout the year, nominations for the May 11 award will be accepted through April 30.
