The Greene County girls track and field team placed second of six teams and the boys team placed fourth of five teams in the Ram Relays in Jefferson, postponed one day to April 19 due to inclement weather.
The girls claimed five first place finishes. In field events, sophomore Megan Durbin won the high jump at 5’ 5”, and junior Kenna Marquardt won the discus throw with at 114’ 7”. On the track, sophomore Chantel Flack won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:36.81. The 800 sprint medley team of Melanie Doran, Laurin Lyons, Megan Durbin and Olivia Hansen won with a time of 1:57.37, and the distance medley team of Doran, Abby Staley, Flack and Emily Finch won with a time of 4:48.97.
Second place finishes went to Hansen in the 200 meter dash in 28.18, to Doran in the 100 meter hurdles at 17.87, and to the 4 X 200 meter relay team of Janelle Brophy, Hansen, Lyons and Durbin with a time of 1:53.30
Boone won the girls meet with 192 points, followed by Greene County at 111, Carroll at 97, Perry at 75, East Sac County at 67 and Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) at 35 points.
Other top six finishes for the Greene County girls team were:
- 100 meters – Brophy, 14.80, third; Hannah Cooklin, 15.37, fifth.
- 1500 meters – Haley Hall, 5:48.60, fifth; Finch, 5:50.41, sixth.
- 3000 meters – Hall, 12:30.30, fourth.
- 4 X 100 meter relay – Doran, Hansen, Lyons, Durbin, 54.92, third.
- 4 X 400 meter relay – Brophy, Flack, Finch, Gabby Sawhill, 4:48.65, fifth.
- Shot put – Marquardt, 31’ 4”, fourth; Lyons, 30’ 10-1/2”, fifth.
The boys had only one first place finish, with that coming from senior Daric Whipple in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.14.
Junior Nick Schroeder placed second in the 400 meter dash in 53.28.
Carroll won the boys meet with 115, with Boone close behind at 114 points. Perry had 57 points, Greene County had 53, and Kuemper Catholic had 33.

- 100 meters – Max Neese, 11.74, fourth.
- 200 meters – Neese, 23.35, third.
- 3200 meters – Levi Kiss, 11:50.64; Nick Lillion, 12:29.41
- 110 meter hurdles – Whipple, 16.23, third
- 4 X 100 meter relay – Chase Stoline, Whipple, Logan Lansman, Neese, 45.75, third.
- 4 X 200 meter relay – 1:456.94, fifth.
- 4 X 400 meter relay – 3:45.26, fourth.
- 4 X 800 meter relay – 10:21.78, third.
- 1600 sprint medley – 4:18.34, fifth.
- 4 X 110 meter shuttle hurdle – 1:07.78, third.
- Long jump – Schroeder, 18’ 8”, third. Tyler Beger, 17’ 10”, fifth.
- Shot put – Matthew Grodon, 40’ 2”, fifth.
- Discus – Ben Lint, 112’ 9”, fifth; Gordon, 112’ 2”, sixth.
