The Relay for Life of Greene County features a variety of activities and entertainment, a community barbecue, time to celebrate and time to reflect, but for many participants the most fun is the silent auction.
Each year the silent auction raises more than $4,000 that goes to the American Cancer Society in its efforts to serve and advocate for cancer patients and to fund lifesaving research.
All businesses, organizations and individuals are invited to support the Relay for Life by donating items for the silent auction. Goods or products, certificates for services, handmade items and one-of-a-kind crafts help create an array that tempt even the most timid bidders to compete to take something home.
Items for the silent auction can be taken to Home State Bank. For more information, contact silent auction co-chair Rhonda Morlan at Home State Bank, 515-386-2131.

The 20th annual Relay for Life of Greene County is slated for Saturday, April 23, at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson. Bidding in the silent auction will begin at 9:30 am and conclude at 1:15 pm.
