During the early weeks of February, students from Greene County Elementary, Intermediate, and Middle Schools “jumped all over” heart disease and stroke by participating in the annual Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart fundraiser.
Volunteer students from second through eighth grades participated in this year’s event, raising $12,776 for the American Heart Association.
Funds raised for JRFH/HFH help fight heart disease and stroke and contribute to research.
“This year’s event was again a tremendous success. The students did a fantastic job raising the amount we did. We are very proud of these students as they have found a worthwhile cause and have worked so hard to support it. We would like to thank the parents, our schools and the surrounding communities who have helped and donated towards the American Heart Association,” said Lori Danner, JRFH/HFH coordinator.
Fellow phys. ed. teachers Sean Thompson and Ryan Eberly also helped with organizing the event.
