National Autism Awareness Day – Saturday, April 2 – was marked Friday a Greene County Elementary School with special T-shirts.
Modeling the shirts are kindergartener Ryan Brogotti with teachers and support staff (from left) Tyler Lowmiller, Denise Carpenter, Tricia Monthei, Tasha Monthei, Rhonda Baer, Jenn Zmolek and Darcy Davis.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 68 American children, an estimated 1 to 1.2 million children, have autism. Boys are 4.5 times more likely to be identified with autism.
