No cause yet for Pizza Ranch fire

The cause of the fire that severely damaged the Jefferson Pizza Ranch Jan. 27 is still under investigation, Jefferson fire chief Randy Love said Tuesday. The state fire marshal is investigating the fire. According to Love, he has not been told the fire has been deemed “suspicious,” and a two-week time period for an investigation is not unusual.

Pedersen updates Jeff council on tourism promotion

Greene County magistrate court, week ending Feb. 5

In Greene County magistrate court judgment were entered recently in three cases that were initiated in district court. Charges were amended to simple misdemeanors in each case and judgments were entered in the lower court. Lenten Luncheon series begins this week

The ecumenical Lenten Luncheon series begins Ash Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the St Joseph Parish Center in Jefferson. Each Wednesday during Lent one Jefferson church serves a light lunch from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm, followed by a devotional program from 12:15 to 12:45. The programs are typically led by lay members of the host church.
