Less snow than usual in January

Although there was snow on the ground the entire month of January, Jefferson received significantly less snow than normal. According to volunteer weather observer John Beltz, Jefferson received 2.0 inches of snow, while 7.5 inches is normal for January. The snow equated to .53 inch of precipitation, with .96 inch being normal.
