Nominations for the 2016 Bell Tower of Fame Award are due Monday, Feb. 29. The award, presented during the annual Bell Tower Festival in Jefferson, honors people who have outstanding international, national or state achievements in professional or personal endeavors and through those accomplishments have brought recognition to Greene County.
Criteria for nomination:
- The nominee must have been a resident of Greene County during some part of his or her life. If the nominee is no longer residing in Greene County, some on-going connection with the county needs to have been maintained.
- The nominee must possess state, national, and/or international achievements.
Nomination forms are available at the Greene County Chamber of Commerce office, 220 North Chestnut, Jefferson, Iowa 50129 or online here
Deadline for 2016 nominations to be turned in to the Chamber office is 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, at 5 pm.
“The award committee of past Bell Tower Festival chairs also reviews past nominations each year, so if a person has received additional honors or recognition since being nominated, the nominator should fill out a new form and re-submit the nomination,” explained Carole Custer, Bell Tower of Fame Award chair. “Our county should be proud of the number of accomplished people across the nation who have Greene County roots,” she said.
