Greene County engineer Wade Weiss assured the county supervisors Monday morning that the secondary roads department is ready for whatever Winter Storm Kayla brings.
All department employees are available for work except one, and someone is on call to cover that position. The crew has the oversized snow blower ready for use, although it hasn’t been needed in five years.
The ditches were full last week so only a light snowfall created problems with blowing snow, but the warm weather over the weekend helped a lot.
“We’re more prepared for this one than we’ve ever been. The nice weather has helped,” Weiss said.
