The Greene County girls varsity basketball team continues to struggle. For the third time this season the girls scored fewer than 20 points as they lost 42-19 to the Winterset Huskies in Winterset Monday.
As in other games this season the Rams had difficulty keeping track of the ball. In the first half they scored 10 points but had 16 turnovers. For the game, the girls had 25 turnovers. The turnovers were accompanied by cold shooting. The Rams made eight of 35 shots from the floor for 23 percent shooting. They were three of 10 shooting free throws.
The Huskies had 17 turnovers for the game. They made 14 of 39 from the floor and 10 of 18 from the free throw line.
Laurin Lyons scored six points, Nicole Rohner scored five, Sunny Mobley scored four, and Hannah Promes and Taylor Wessling scored two each.
The Rams are 2-6 overall and 2-5 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. The Huskies are 2-6 overall and 2-5 in the Raccoon River Activities Conference.
