Greene County wrestlers competed in a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference dual meet in Saydel Dec. 17. The Rams fill six weight classes for the meet. The Rams won seven matches and lost five for the night. Tommy Bradshaw and Mark Kendall won both their matches, and Kane Borgeson, Cayden Gerdes and Isaiah Yoder each won one.
Against Saydel, the Rams lost 47-9. Kane Borgeson (120) lost by fall in 5:33 to Klayton Keller. Cayden Gerdes (132) lost by major decision 7-19 to Cory Harden. Isaac Ireland (138) lost by fall in 1:42 to Oscar Ruiz. Tommy Bradshaw (152) won by decision 7-3 over Devon Van Houten. Isaiah Yoder (160) lost by fall in 1:54 to Dylan Coffin. Mark Kendall (170) won by fall in 1:37 over Trevor Sprague.
The Rams fared better against Nevada, losing 42-25. Borgeson won by decision 6-2 over Dennis Garcia. Gerdes won by major decision 13-4 to Emilio Saldana. Ireland lost by fall in 1:53 to Luke Ferguson. Bradshaw won by fall in 1:57 over Jay Calentine. Yoder won by fall in 1:00 over Brendan Sellberg. Kendall won by fall in 3:46 over Andrew Clough.
In junior varsity wrestling, Garrett McDowell lost one match by major decision 2-10, and lost one by fall in :55.
