To the editor,
I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who helped me get through the difficult time after a dog attacked me while I was walking a dog as a volunteer for PAWS. If you said a prayer, brought food by, asked me about the ordeal, said a comforting word, sent cards, flowers, phone calls, your kindness will be always be remembered. To Pastor Julie Poulsen, who came to the ER and sat with Rich, it was truly appreciated. To my church, the Methodist, the lovely prayer blanket is so comforting, and so are the prayers that came with it. You are truly an amazing church family.
To Dennis Murphy from Grand Junction, you put yourself and your safety on the line for me by pulling that dog off me. I have thanked God for you often. I truly believe that if you had not come along, I wouldn’t be here today. You were truly a Godsend. Jeb Ball, another hero. Thanks for the kindness you gave me, the warm car, and for calling the emergency people. I will always remember how nice you were. People, all over town always talk about what a great guy you are, and I agree.
Thanks to officer Kyle De Moss for the kindness extended to me, and the ambulance crew, Lacey Follett Brubaker and Dennis Morlan.
Many thanks to PAWS of Greene County for letting me volunteer for so many years, and especially for the dog walking that I loved, loved, loved! What a privilege it was to volunteer and help so many homeless animals of Greene County! To the women on the board of PAWS, working with you was an experience that I will remember for a long time, and I will continue to hold you, and PAWS, in my prayers.
I don’t know what God has in store for me, but I will continue to help the animals in some way, shape or form. I am truly blessed to have so many caring people in my life!
