PAWS volunteers can’t help Santa fill a wish list that includes a hippopotamus, but they can help families who have given serious thought to adding a kitten or cat to the family.
“We are aware that for some, getting a new pet at the holidays might not be the best idea – higher levels of stress, anxiety and excitement may enter into the picture,” a PAWS spokesperson said. “However, if you’ve seriously thought about bringing a new pet into your home, and are truly ready for a forever friend, then now’s the time.”
From Dec. 13 through Dec. 24, the adoption fee for each of the cats and kittens now cared for by PAWS is reduced to just $25. PAWS is looking for home for many wonderful cats and older kittens, in all sizes, colors, temperaments and age ranges. Almost all of them are spayed or neutered, microchipped and current on all shots and testing.
Anyone who is interested in adopting a PAWS cat, or anyone who would like to foster one of them, is asked to call the PAWS voicemail at 515-386-9814. Calls will be returned within 24 hours.
Pictures of the cats and kittens available can be found here or on the PAWS (Jefferson, IA) Facebook page.
