The concerts presented by St. Patrick’s Oratory on Sunday, Dec. 6, were glorious gifts of the season to the community. Members of the St. Patrick’s Committee arranged the free events which featured the All Strings Attached Chamber Orchestra and Choir of Carroll. The musicians include Jeffersonians Rick Morain, orchestra pianist; and Hank Muzney, a tenor in the choir.
Their music filled the old country church west of Churdan with lovely sound, celebrating the Christmas season with beloved traditional carols and a cantata by modern American composer Joseph M. Martin.
The music allowed listeners a harmonious respite from the turmoil of today’s world and time to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday as they sat in the oaken pews of the beautifully decorated sanctuary.
Thank you, St. Patrick’s, for launching the Christmas season with your gift to all of us.
